16th January 2021 Dr Davina Lloyd Chair of CPT Steering Committee with Rebecca Munro PhD Researcher at the European University Institute in Florence on Social and Economic Rights & Social Movement. Dr. Munro introduces herself, "I am a PhD Researcher at the European University Institute in Florence with a special interest in social and economic rights and social movements. I have an LLM from Durham University in International Law and Governance. Before starting my PhD, I was a Legal Intern at The International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia and The Texas Defender Service."

The CEDAW People's Tribunal was established to examine the failure to integrate CEDAW into UK domestic legislation, decide whether those delays are legitimate or not, and to make necessary recommendations as to how CEDAW can be given full effect in the UK, advancing women in all aspects of society and recognizing historic inequalities. John Cooper QC has been instructed as Counsel to the Tribunal and will lead an experienced team in the preparation and presentation of arguments before a tribunal of independent judges. He has a significant International practice representing clients all over the world. He was Chair of the International Steering Committee and Prosecutor at the Iran Tribunal in The Hague. John Cooper QC has been named by The Times as one of the Top 100 Influential Lawyers of 2012 in the UK. He is also visiting Professor of Law at Cardiff University and a Master of the Bench at Middle Temple.
