The CEDAW People's Tribunal is delighted to present an official statement of its mission and goals.
WHAT?

We are a grassroots organisation that aims to attain the full implementation of CEDAW into domestic law in the UK.
WHY?
Every woman and girl born in the UK should be able to realise, as of right, her true potential. Together we can strive towards creating a better world for women and girls.
HOW?
Through justice, truth, and the realisation of transformative substantive equality. More specifically, we can achieve our goal in 3 steps:
-
By receiving recommendations from independent judges on how to give full effect to CEDAW in the UK;
-
The creation of draft legislation; and
-
The implementation of CEDAW into UK domestic law.
WHO?
Our team includes:

-
A steering committee, chaired by Dr. Davina Lloyd
-
Counsel, John Cooper QC
-
An advocacy team, supported by more than 40 legal assistants
-
A range of esteemed women's rights proponents
-
An army of volunteers
And most importantly, supporters like you - a people's tribunal is a forum for all voices to be heard.
WHY NOW?
There is no reason why CEDAW cannot be transposed into UK domestic law. Women are suffering disproportionately at the hands of the current COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and in everyday professional and personal life.
